On October 10th and 11th, Disparti Law Group filed 25 cases in the Circuit Court of Cook County against insurer, Direct Auto, on behalf of clients who have been in motor vehicle accidents with their insured.
In a press conference on Wednesday, October 18th, Attorney Jamaal Buchanan, of Disparti Law Group, noted “liability is clear in these matters” and Direct Auto has chosen not respond. He continued, “these are real cases. These are real people who suffered real injuries.”
Founder of Disparti Law Group, Larry Disparti, commented that, “a vast majority of the delay tactics and failure to reasonably settle claims is disproportionally effecting lower income and minor communities.” This is not acceptable and the team at DLG will do everything it can to fight on behalf of their clients.
Litigation Director for Disparti Law Group, Amanda Martin, went on to warn that they would, “aggressively pursue litigation” with any insurer that refused to respond to good faith requests made by people injured in automobile accidents.
Eric Phillips, one of the clients represented in these cases, was present at the press conference to describe the pain and suffering he had endured, both physically and financially, as a result of the accident in which he was a passenger in a car hit but a Direct Auto insured vehicle that went through a red light.
Phillips’ injuries required him to take off a significant amount of work time to seek medical treatments including physical therapy and a constant barrage of testing. And with his accident happening before the holidays, the accident did “… real damage to my life. I couldn’t really afford presents for the kids.”
On behalf of Eric and many more clients, these cases were filled in the Municipal Division of the Circuit Court of Cook County. The attorneys at Disparti Law Group are continuing to review more cases and will continue to file cases until these insurance companies do what’s right. At least respond.
In their reporting on these cases (seen below), NBC 5 Chicago noted that they had reached out to Direct Auto for comment. They too had received no response.
